My Story
My Philosophy
My Philosphy is simple. Every woman has the right to design her own birth story. My job is to provide her with enough information and education so she can make the right decision for HER.
I am a mom to 3 great kids and grandma to one beautiful little girl. My husband and I have been married for 30 years and I am looking forward to the next 30.
My journey to becoming a birth doula began when I started volunteering in the NICU at a local hospital. My job as a "cuddler" let me connect with parents on a very personal level, during one of the most difficult times of their lives.
The next step in my journey came when I was privileged to be my daughter's birth coach. During her pregnancy there were many questions she asked and I did a lot of research to find evidenced based answers. During her labor I realized that I was supporting her in the same way a Doula would, by using massage, Reiki and by being a very calming influence for her. She was able to labor without drugs and have the experience she designed for her birth.
I enjoyed the experience so much I decided to change my career path and become a Doula.
